About Us
Hi! We are Natalie and Sarah
The creators behind our passion child: Fabled Fantasy Events. Founded in 2023, this company was born out of friendship and creativity that was clawing to get out. Sarah brings an extensive background in Hollywood and degrees in production and costume design, and Natalie brings her industry experience and master’s degree in publishing from University College London. Together, we had a vision, and like so many of the FMCs in romantasy, we have fought to make that vision a reality.

I really started more towards the fantasy genre when I was younger, but Stardust I think was one of my first romantasy books.
- Favorite Trope
Forced Proximity or One Bed.
- If You Were a Romantasy Character, What Would Your Preferred Weapon Be:
Is all of them an option? I want all of them. That said, if I had to choose… Bow and Arrow, or a dagger.
- You Are Dropped Into A Romantasy Story as the FMC—Which Background Do You Choose:
Fairytale Retelling, Dark Romantasy, Urban Fantasy, Pirates, or Viking Lore? Oh tough choice, but lets be honest- Pirates..
- What is your favorite part of Romantasy BookCons?
I love seeing the community that surrounds the events- everyone is just having so much fun and just being themselves. There’s nothing like feeling like you’ve found your people.

- First Romantasy You Remember Reading:
I have been reading romantasy well before it was a separate genre. As a younger child, I would say Ella Enchanted, but one that I always think of is one of Danielle L. Jensen’s earliest works: Stolen Songbird.
- Favorite Trope
Memory loss/amnesia.
- If You Were a Romantasy Character, What Would Your Preferred Weapon Be:
Poison or bow and arrow. I mean, I want to say I would be Legolas style shooting arrows down the side of a castle, but in all honestly, I would trip and fall to my death. So, let’s stick to the poison.
- You Are Dropped Into A Romantasy Story as the FMC—Which Background Do You Choose:
Fairytale Retelling, Dark Romantasy, Urban Fantasy, Pirates, or Viking Lore? Oooh, that is a tough one because, hello, all of them. But I’m going to go with fairytale retelling.
- What is your favorite part of Romantasy BookCons?
I love watching attendees meet their author heroes, but I also love authors telling me how much it meant to them that an attendee came in cosplay for their characters. It makes their world!

As we look to the future, Fabled Fantasy Events is excited to expand our conventions, retreats, and other experiences. Our goal is always to provide passionate readers with unique, in-person opportunities that connect them with authors, creators, and other readers so they feel seen.

What We Do
Fabled Fantasy Events is the umbrella for multiple brands and events.
Romantasy BookCon
& RomantasyCon
We host multiple large-scale conventions throughout the year in both US and European cities. These conventions are multi-day immersive events that bring together readers authors, creators, publishing professionals, media, and content influencers. Attendees can purchase day only tickets, or they enhance their experience with our higher tiers that include lavish evening activities. All conventions include opportunities to meet authors at their booths or through free ticketed lines, attend panels and workshops, shop vendors, and explore everything romantasy. Fabled Fantasy Events never asks attendees to pay for author signings or photographs.
Romantasy Retreats
Let’s bring things down a bit. Our retreats uphold our mission to connect authors to readers, but on a more intimate scale. Hosted throughout the year in various cities, we invite at least one author to each retreat to be our guest of honor. But think of this more as the ultimate book girlie sleepover. Attendees will get to know the author(s) on a personal basis as they participate in city-specific activities with them, attend an exclusive Q&A, get their books signed, have pajama parties, and debate book crushes and tropes. Even more importantly, attendees will form a found family that they hold onto even after the weekend ends.
Exclusive Events
Fabled Fantasy Events is always expanding. As part of this expansion, we will periodically host single events that focus on a single evening, author, or book. These will each be unique while still maintaining our authenticity and flare. If you are a publisher or author who is interested in partnering with us for specific events, please reach out via email.

Basically the best time of your life! Whether you are coming with a group of friends or solo, this space is all about building a community and connection. Let’s play a game…at a Romantasy BookCon/RomantasyCon convention you may…
- Meet authors you have admired for years—I’m not crying, you’re crying!
- Strike up a conversation with a stranger who ends up becoming your next book club bestie.
- Make a custom set of fae ears—the perfect addition to your cosplay you are going to slay in during the contest.
- Step out of your comfort zone and make adorable trinkets to trade with other attendees.
- Dance the night away with hundreds of friends that you will never forget.
- Make new-to-you author discoveries that you will look back and wonder how you ever did it without them.
- Get tips and tricks from authors for crafting your own draft and getting an agent.
- Attend panels that make you laugh…then make you cry.
- Need to purchase another suitcase because you may have found every romantasy-themed item you didn’t know you needed from all the vendors.
- Make incredible memories that last a lifetime!
What attendees can expect at our retreats:
Do you remember those slumber parties you had as a teenager with your besties. The ones that made you feel so alive because they were filled with genuine laughter, talking about the things that didn’t really matter…and the things that did, and a connection that is hard to find as an adult. Well, we decided that as women, we deserve that back. Welcome to Romantasy Retreats.
These more intimate experiences have two main goals:
- Create a safe space that brings a small group of women together from all different backgrounds where they can deeply connect through books and craft lasting connections.
- Orchestrate a truly unique experience with an author/authors. Unlike other events where authors have limited personal time with attendees, our authors are fully immersed in the entire retreat experience. From book signings to pajama parties, this is a chance to get to really see an author.
While each retreat is tailored to the location and includes experiences unique to that city, they all provide dedicated time with the author(s) for book signings and Q&A. Please review each location, including room options and experiences, to find the best fit for you! Please note that at this time our retreats are female only.
